Waxing & Lash/Brow Tinting

Waxing

Waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal that removes the entire hair from the hair follicle. Warm wax is applied to the skin and adheres to the hair. When removed, the hair is pulled from the root. If hair has grown out to the appropriate length prior to waxing, typically, you can expect to be hair free for 1-2 weeks (some experience longer lasting results). Waxing can be used on any area of the body, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet.

Waxing is accomplished by spreading a wax thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on the top and pulled off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the unwanted hair. Another method utilizes hard wax (as opposed to strip wax). In this case, the wax is applied somewhat thickly. The wax hardens when it cools – allowing easy removal without the aid of cloth or paper strip.

How can I prepare my skin for waxing?

Be sure to apply all recommended products before and after waxing to prevent ingrown hair, exfoliate waxed area at least once a week. One week prior to waxing do not tan, exfoliate or irritate skin. Remember, if you are using medications such as Accutane or Retin-A waxing can not be performed.

How often should I wax?

We suggest you wax every 4-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth. Often waxing will weaken your hair follicles making the whole waxing process a lot easier and less painful after each visit.

What do I want, Bikini or Brazilian?

Bikini – Targets the hair that extends outside of the panty line or crease of thigh
Modified Bikini – Only a thin strip of hair will be left down the middle of the bikini area
Brazilian Bikini – All hair is removed including between the buttocks (some prefer leaving a small patch in front)
Optimal hair length is 1/4 inch.
